About this role

Formic seeks a hands-on Robotics Field Service Engineer to diagnose, maintain, and restore industrial robotic systems deployed across manufacturing facilities. You'll respond to production-critical escalations, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, and work directly with customers in fast-paced factory environments across the Austin metro area with significant travel.

What you'll do

  • Diagnose failures and restore robotic manufacturing cells to production quickly
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on deployed systems
  • Respond to remote and on-site escalations and provide technical support to customer teams
  • Log service activity, maintenance records, and spare part requirements in CMMS platforms
  • Document root cause analysis and identify recurring failure patterns for systemic improvement
  • Monitor system performance remotely using Formic dashboards and coordinate field scheduling with stakeholders

  • Industrial robotics troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Electrical, mechanical, PLC, and control system diagnostics
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic drawings
  • CMMS platform experience
  • Safety compliance and LOTO procedures
  • Written and verbal technical communication
  • 6-axis robot brands (Fanuc, KUKA, Yaskawa, ABB, UR preferred)
  • Spanish language proficiency (bonus)
