About this role

Formic seeks a Robotics Field Service Engineer to maintain and troubleshoot deployed robotic manufacturing systems across customer facilities. You'll diagnose failures, perform preventative maintenance, restore production quickly, and drive fleet uptime in high-accountability manufacturing environments.

What you'll do

  • Diagnose and resolve failures on robotic cells through remote and on-site troubleshooting
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on robotic systems
  • Document service work, root cause analysis, and asset updates in CMMS platforms
  • Provide technical training and support to customer operators and maintenance teams
  • Coordinate field scheduling and escalations with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Identify systemic failure patterns and support continuous improvement initiatives

  • Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems
  • 6-axis robot programming and control systems (Fanuc, KUKA, Yaskawa, ABB, UR)
  • Electrical schematic and pneumatic drawing interpretation
  • CMMS platform experience and maintenance documentation
  • Industrial automation and conveyor systems knowledge
  • Safety compliance and LOTO procedures
  • Customer communication and technical writing
  • Root cause analysis and structured problem-solving
