About this role
Freedom Technology Solutions Group seeks an Audio Visual Engineer to design, install, and commission advanced AV systems for U.S. Government customers in the Washington, DC Metro area. The role involves system design, technical documentation, customer collaboration, and onsite support for multi-classification government projects.
What you'll do
- Survey, design, and configure multi-classification AV solutions with DSP layouts and system configurations
- Gather and validate customer requirements through stakeholder meetings and documentation
- Create engineering documentation including signal flow diagrams, bills of materials, and cable plant layouts
- Lead onsite AV system installations, configuration, and commissioning at client locations
- Collaborate with customer facilities teams, subcontractors, and vendors during deployment
- Develop end-user training materials and operations/maintenance plans
What they're looking for
- Large-scale AV system design and installation
- DSP platform experience (Biamp, QSC, or similar)
- Control systems (Crestron, Extron, Thinklogical)
- AutoCAD and Visio for technical documentation
- Project coordination and schedule management
- Customer interface and stakeholder communication
- System commissioning and testing
- AVIXA certification (preferred)
