Maintenance Controls Engineer
About this role
Harbinger Motors seeks a Maintenance Controls Engineer to support EV manufacturing lines by managing automation, SCADA, and MES integration across battery, assembly, drivetrain, and motor production systems. You'll troubleshoot complex controls failures, collaborate with vendors and internal teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment uptime and data reliability.
What you'll do
- Troubleshoot, program, and maintain PLCs (Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000), HMIs, and safety controllers
- Develop and maintain Ignition SCADA screens, tag structures, alarm systems, and machine-to-MES data integration
- Diagnose and resolve industrial network issues (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, OPC-UA, Modbus, CAN)
- Collaborate with equipment vendors and OEMs to resolve controls issues and coordinate field service interventions
- Support equipment installations, commissioning, and transfers with flexible scheduling for European time zone overlap
- Interpret and update electrical schematics, control loop diagrams, and P&IDs
