About this role
Hunter Douglas seeks an Industrial Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, plant layouts, and operational efficiency at their Salt Lake City facility. You'll ensure safety, quality, and productive capacity while managing cycle times, headcount planning, and supporting new product launches.
What you'll do
- Conduct weekly safety walks and implement countermeasures for industrial engineering risks and ergonomic issues
- Develop and implement optimal plant, process, and flow layouts; measure and audit cycle times monthly
- Define required headcount based on forecasted volume and create monthly 'Need to Run' documentation
- Perform ergonomic analyses and lead multidisciplinary industrial engineering studies and evaluations
- Support product launches by defining process layouts, initial cycle times, and flows in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Lead capacity studies, validate performance metrics, and identify/remove roadblocks affecting operational KPIs
