Jane Street seeks a Data Engineering intern to learn how to transform raw, complex datasets into reliable foundations for research and trading. You'll work on two real projects involving data ingestion, transformation, and quality monitoring using Python, SQL, and OCaml, guided by experienced mentors.

What you'll do

  • Explore and analyze unfamiliar datasets to understand their contents and identify data quality issues
  • Write code for data ingestion, transformation, and quality monitoring
  • Investigate anomalies and inconsistencies in structured and unstructured data
  • Document findings and explain data insights to stakeholders
  • Own two real-world projects from conception through completion
  • Collaborate with full-time Data Engineers and business users throughout the internship
