Kodiak
Software Engineer, Localization
About this role
Join Kodiak Robotics' Calibration, Localization and Mapping team to develop navigation and pose estimation algorithms for autonomous trucking. You'll work on sensor fusion, visual/lidar odometry, and state estimation systems that power driverless semi-trucks operating in commercial settings.
What you'll do
- Develop and integrate onboard navigation and pose estimation algorithms
- Optimize sensor fusion using IMU, camera, and lidar data
- Build visual and lidar odometry algorithms for autonomous vehicles
- Create navigation metrics to evaluate algorithm and system performance
- Troubleshoot and innovate solutions across the localization pipeline
- Evaluate sensor performance and verify calibrations and uncertainty characterization
What they're looking for
- C++ proficiency
- State estimation and Kalman filtering
- Sensor fusion and inertial navigation
- Computer vision or visual odometry
- Point cloud processing
- Data structures and algorithms
- Software engineering fundamentals
- GNSS and IMU signal processing
Benefits
- Competitive compensation with equity and annual bonuses
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage through Kaiser, Cigna, and MetLife
- Legal services and identity/fraud protection
- Hospital indemnity, accident, and critical illness insurance
