About this role
Varda seeks a Ground Systems Software Engineer II to build and maintain critical ground segment software for spacecraft operations, including telemetry handling, mission control interfaces, and test automation. You'll develop high-reliability services, operator dashboards, and deployment platforms that support both integration testing and on-orbit missions.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain high-reliability telemetry ingestion, scaling, distribution, and commanding services
- Design operator-grade mission control UIs and dashboards optimized for integration, test, and flight operations
- Build simulation tools, device emulators, and automated test scenarios for avionics and GNC teams
- Architect and productionize mission platform infrastructure including CI/CD pipelines, service templates, and observability tools
- Implement robust deployment patterns for lab, test range, and mission network environments with safe rollout/rollback strategies
- Collaborate with flight software, avionics, RF/ground systems, and mission ops teams
