About this role

Lightmatter seeks a Reliability Engineer to design and execute comprehensive reliability testing for advanced photonics-based AI infrastructure products. You'll develop test protocols, conduct failure analysis, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure products meet industry standards and customer expectations throughout their lifecycle.

What you'll do

  • Develop reliability test plans aligned with product requirements, industry standards, and customer needs
  • Execute qualification testing for photonics-based AI platforms and chiplet communication products
  • Conduct FMEA to identify and mitigate potential reliability risks in design and manufacturing
  • Perform root cause analysis on device failures and drive cross-functional improvements
  • Establish internal reliability guidelines and standards to meet benchmarks
  • Use statistical analysis to model reliability performance and predict device lifetimes

  • Reliability test methodologies (HTOL, HAST, TDDB, HTHH, TC)
  • Failure analysis tools (SEM, TEM, FIB, EMMI)
  • Device physics and SerDes/digital/mixed-signal IC reliability
  • Packaging failure mechanisms and 3D integration technologies
  • Statistical analysis and reliability modeling (Weibull, Minitab, JMP)
  • FMEA and root cause analysis
  • Technical report writing and stakeholder communication
  • Semiconductor or photonics device testing experience
