About this role
Lunar Energy seeks a Power Electronics Engineer to design and optimize power conversion systems for clean energy products. You'll own projects from specification through manufacturing, working across teams to develop efficient DC/DC converters, isolated power supplies, and inverters ranging from 10W to 10kW.
What you'll do
- Design power electronic systems including topology selection, semiconductor choice, magnetics design, schematics, layout, EMC, and safety
- Create and execute verification and validation test plans for components and complete systems
- Perform system bring-up, testing, and performance optimization to validate functionality
- Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, reliability, and firmware teams to optimize products
- Own power conversion systems end-to-end from specification through prototype, validation, and manufacturing
- Contribute to product-level features, design, and vision leveraging experience and creativity
What they're looking for
- Power electronics design with 5+ years experience
- Active and passive component loss analysis and mitigation
- High efficiency converter design with wide bandgap devices
- Converter topology analysis, selection, and design (two-level, multilevel, soft switching)
- Magnetics design, core materials, winding structure, and insulation strategies
- EMC design, PCB layout, and filter design
- Schematic and layout design for power conversion
- Lab instrumentation: oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, high voltage/current testing
