Air Vehicle Design Engineer

About this role

Mach Industries seeks an Air Vehicle Design Engineer to lead the development of next-generation unmanned aircraft and missile systems, from conceptual sizing through detailed CAD modeling and manufacturability assessment. You'll translate mission requirements into viable vehicle architectures while collaborating across aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, and flight-test teams in a rapidly growing defense technology company.

What you'll do

• Develop overall vehicle configurations by translating mission and system requirements into feasible designs
• Perform first-order sizing and layout studies to establish vehicle architectures and trade studies
• Create and maintain detailed CAD models including outer mold line, internal packaging, and major assemblies
• Evaluate design trades balancing aerodynamic performance, weight, manufacturability, modularity, and subsystem integration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, manufacturing, and flight test
• Produce engineering drawings and support prototype fabrication and flight-test preparation
