About this role

Varda seeks a C++ flight software engineer to develop reliable software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operating in orbit. You'll own the complete software development lifecycle from requirements through testing and flight operations for safety-critical systems.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain flight software controlling spacecraft behavior throughout orbital missions
  • Write embedded C++ code for bare metal, RTOS, and Linux-based processors
  • Perform requirements capture, design, testing, integration, and verification/validation
  • Scope projects and conduct design trades for open-ended problems
  • Ensure system quality and performance through comprehensive software testing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on problem-solving and technical communication
