About this role
NewsBreak is seeking an AI Engineer to develop its agent platform, which supports next-generation AI products. This role involves building crucial infrastructure for AI agents that enhance local news and advertising functionalities, while working closely with a small, agile team.
What you'll do
- Develop the agent runtime to manage context assembly and model routing
- Design the eval and observability harness for agent performance tracking
- Manage the context engineering layer for model interactions
- Integrate and benchmark new AI models as they become available
- Create user-facing tools for internal teams
- Collaborate with product teams to launch new agent concepts swiftly
What they're looking for
- Experience in shipping AI products
- Familiarity with modern AI development tools
- Ability to work independently across the project lifecycle
- Knowledge of AI agent design principles
- Strong coding proficiency in Python, Go, or Node
- Frontend skills in React or Next.js
- Product sensibility and user-focused mindset
