About this role
ERGO NEXT seeks a Backend Software Engineer to own the Payments & Partnerships domain, building scalable server-side solutions in Kotlin for a technology-driven insurance platform. You'll collaborate across teams to deliver production-ready features with strong test coverage in a hybrid role based in Waltham, MA.
What you'll do
- Own features from design through production deployment in the Payments & Partnerships domain
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and frontend teams to iterate on solutions and refine the platform
- Develop clean, testable backend code and deploy multiple times daily via CI/CD pipeline
- Build and maintain highly distributed, cloud-based systems on AWS infrastructure
- Leverage AI and LLM tools to enhance development productivity and experimentation
- Design and optimize relational database schemas with strong SQL implementation

- Backend development (6+ years) with Kotlin, Java, Python, or .NET
- Object-oriented programming and design patterns
- AWS or cloud platform experience
