About this role

Olsson is seeking an Assistant Engineer for their Traffic/Technology team in Colorado Springs to design traffic infrastructure and conduct transportation studies. You'll use CAD software to create designs for traffic signals, roundabouts, and safety improvements while analyzing traffic patterns to optimize roadway performance.

What you'll do

  • Create design plans using CAD software for traffic signals, roundabouts, pavement markings, and signing
  • Conduct traffic operation and pedestrian circulation studies for public and private clients
  • Evaluate safety and operational performance of transportation systems
  • Analyze traffic data and patterns to optimize roadway designs and manage congestion
  • Design temporary traffic control plans and multimodal facilities
  • Assist with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and citywide safety studies
