About this role
OpenAI is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and scale cloud infrastructure for long-running AI agents. You'll build orchestration, sandboxing, and reliability systems that power ChatGPT, the API, and Codex while partnering with product teams to enable rapid development.
What you'll do
- Design and scale orchestration, sandboxing, and storage systems for agentic workloads
- Partner with product engineers to build abstractions that accelerate shipping
- Improve reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency for agents
- Deploy services across multiple environments and cloud providers
- Define platform interfaces based on product feedback
- Operate production systems handling complex infrastructure challenges
