Software Engineer, Research Developer Productivity
About this role
OpenAI's Fleet team seeks a software engineer to build developer productivity infrastructure supporting research at scale. You'll design CI/CD pipelines, testing systems, and build tooling for Python, Rust, and C++ environments to enable fast, reliable development and deployment across the organization.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain systems for iterative development, testing, and deployment of new research features
- Design and oversee continuous integration pipelines and testing infrastructure
- Develop and improve build systems and developer tooling for large monorepo environments
- Drive the vision and standards for how software is built, tested, and deployed
- Provide tooling and metrics to support fast-paced research culture and platform stability
- Collaborate with research and engineering teams to reduce development friction
