Process Development Engineer

About this role

Periodic Labs, an AI and physical sciences company, seeks a Process Development Engineer to design and optimize semiconductor processing workflows and lab infrastructure. You'll establish process control metrics, conduct design of experiments, engage with customers on complex engineering challenges, and collaborate across AI/ML and automation teams to build scalable solutions.

What you'll do

• Establish process control metrics, design of experiments (DOE), and statistical process control (SPC) for semiconductor equipment
• Contribute to lab design, construction, and scale-up of thin-film and semiconductor processing facilities
• Engage directly with customers and vendors to resolve complex process engineering issues and proof-of-concept experiments
• Create technical documentation, procedures, and standardized data pipelines for AI training infrastructure
• Perform hardware characterization and troubleshoot complex engineering problems
• Collaborate with AI/ML, simulation, and automation teams on scalable solutions
