About this role
Join an AI and physical sciences company building autonomous lab systems to accelerate materials discovery. As a Research Engineer, you'll design and integrate software that connects lab instruments, robots, and data systems to enable AI-driven experimental workflows at scale.
What you'll do
- Translate scientific workflows into integration specifications and data models in collaboration with bench scientists
- Design and build automated workcells for materials research with integration partners
- Develop and maintain services connecting instruments and robots to lab information systems
- Create instrument drivers that automate lab workflows via vendor APIs and SDKs
- Integrate autonomous lab systems with AI models for experiment analysis and planning
