Software Engineer
About this role
PingWind seeks a Software Engineer in Virginia Beach to design and maintain software for autonomous systems and UAV applications. The role requires expertise in flight control systems, sensor fusion, and real-time software development while supporting federal government missions and holding TS/SCI clearance eligibility.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and test software applications for autonomous navigation and UAV systems using C, C++, and Python
- Implement sensor fusion techniques integrating IMUs, GPS, cameras, and LiDAR data streams
- Develop and maintain graphical user interfaces using Qt/QML framework for mission planning and monitoring
- Troubleshoot complex network communication issues and reverse engineer C++ and Python codebases
- Participate in all SDLC phases including requirements analysis, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance in Agile environments
- Build, compile, and deploy production-ready software applications from source code
