Software Engineer, Engineering Platform

About this role

Ramp is seeking a Software Engineer for the Engineering Platform team to build infrastructure that enables 300+ engineers to develop faster and safer. You'll design developer tools, CI/CD systems, and automation that support both human engineers and AI agents working within Ramp's complex codebase and financial transaction systems.

What you'll do

• Enhance development workflows including CI/CD, testing, local development, code review, and deployment processes
• Create standardized patterns for common engineering tasks like service creation, migrations, and production changes
• Improve codebase scalability through modularity, performance optimization, and reliability enhancements
• Identify and automate repetitive or error-prone engineering workflows for faster, safer execution
• Transform sources of friction into reusable systems and defaults that teams adopt
• Design abstractions and guardrails that enable AI agents and engineers to collaborate effectively
