About this role
REGENT seeks a Human Factors Engineer to design the cockpit and cabin of Seaglider, a novel wing-in-ground-effect aircraft. You'll drive human factors requirements, layout decisions, mockup development, and pilot/passenger evaluations to support U.S. Coast Guard certification of this groundbreaking regional transport vehicle.
What you'll do
- Develop and baseline cockpit and cabin human factors requirements from crew and passenger task analyses across all flight modes and emergency cases
- Apply anthropometry, workload assessment, and human error analysis to drive layout and interface design decisions
- Build and iterate low- to mid-fidelity physical mockups and digital human models to answer design questions
- Design and execute formative and summative evaluations with pilots, test crews, and representative passengers; translate findings into specific design recommendations
- Produce certification-grade human factors analyses and evaluation reports to support USCG compliance approach
- Integrate across disciplines to ensure human factors findings translate into structural, avionics, and software changes
