About this role
Relativity Space seeks a Build Reliability Engineer II to embed quality and reliability into the Terran R rocket vehicle across design, manufacturing, and production phases. You'll work cross-functionally to establish scalable processes, controls, and inspections while balancing speed with safety as the program transitions from development to scaled operations.
What you'll do
- Oversee design standardization, design-for-manufacturability (DFM), and configuration management
- Review and develop work instructions, process plans, and standard rework/repair documentation
- Coordinate in-process build verification and traveled work during manufacturing
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams to identify and mitigate reliability risks
- Establish quality systems and inspection protocols that scale with production growth
- Foster a culture of ownership and proactive decision-making around reliability trade-offs
