Motor Controls Engineer

About this role

ALSO, an electric mobility startup, seeks a Motor Controls Engineer to develop advanced motor control algorithms and simulation models for small EVs. You'll work across hardware testing and software development, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize motor performance and vehicle efficiency.

What you'll do

• Design and develop advanced motor control algorithms and related control systems
• Create and maintain simulation models for control validation and analysis
• Conduct laboratory testing and vehicle-level troubleshooting
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers on requirements and validation
• Debug software issues and analyze system logs for troubleshooting
• Document and track technical problems through development cycles

• PMSM and inverter controls
• Motor control algorithms (FOC, DTC, PWM strategies)
• MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow
• C and Python programming
• Automotive communication protocols (CAN)
• Dynamometer and power measurement equipment
• Git version control and CI workflows
• Embedded controller programming
