Software Engineer, Backend

About this role

Robinhood is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build and own scalable backend services supporting core financial products in their Menlo Park office. You'll tackle complex infrastructure challenges while working on systems serving millions of users across brokerage, incentives, and identity verification domains.

What you'll do

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services with emphasis on long-term maintainability
• Develop product-facing features and platform enhancements meeting strict correctness and scalability standards
• Identify and implement improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and external vendors on technical solutions
• Own critical services supporting trading, brokerage infrastructure, and fraud prevention systems
• Gain deep expertise in U.S. financial systems and regulatory compliance
