Flight Software Engineer II

About this role

Rocket Lab seeks a Flight Software Engineer II to develop flight software for spacecraft and satellites launched on their own rockets. You'll write embedded software for real-time systems, develop hardware drivers for spacecraft sensors, and see your code operating in orbit within weeks.

What you'll do

• Develop application software for Real Time Operating Systems and embedded Linux environments
• Create hardware drivers for spacecraft sensors and actuators like IMUs and star trackers
• Write and maintain unit tests within continuous integration frameworks
• Collaborate with hardware test engineers to validate software and hardware integration
• Participate in design reviews and code audits to ensure quality standards
• Support on-orbit flight operations
