About this role
Rocket Lab seeks a Test and Launch Engineer II to manage launch pad operations and ground systems for the Electron and Neutron rockets at Wallops Island. You'll operate Mission Control consoles, develop procedures, troubleshoot complex systems in real-time, and mentor junior operators while supporting hypersonic and constellation launch missions.
What you'll do
- Operate launch pad console systems during test campaigns, rehearsals, and live missions as Mission Control operator
- Develop, maintain, and improve test plans, operational procedures, checklists, and HMI interfaces for ground systems
- Lead ground systems testing projects including cryogenic loading, pressurization checkouts, and integrated pad operations
- Perform real-time troubleshooting and post-mission data analysis to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
- Oversee launch pad configuration and checkout of GSE, fluid systems, and industrial controls
- Mentor and train junior operators on launch pad systems and ground operations procedures
