About this role
Sesame, a startup building AI-powered voice agent hardware, seeks a Reliability & Failure Analysis Engineer to ensure product quality and longevity. You'll design reliability tests, analyze field failures, drive root cause corrections, and influence design decisions from prototype through production.
What you'll do
- Define and execute reliability testing programs including HALT, ALT, and environmental stress testing
- Conduct failure analysis on units from development, production, and field returns using advanced analytical techniques
- Lead root cause analysis and collaborate across teams to implement corrective and preventive actions
- Influence product design by applying Design for Reliability principles during early development
- Manage reliability lab operations including equipment maintenance, calibration, and safety
- Develop technical reports, dashboards, and performance trend documentation

- Failure analysis tools (X-ray, SEM, microscopy, cross-sectioning)
- Reliability testing methodologies and environmental standards
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving
- Design for Reliability (DFR) principles
- Statistical analysis software (JMP, Minitab preferred)
- Weibull analysis and data-driven modeling
- Cross-functional communication and technical documentation
- Consumer electronics product lifecycle management
