About this role

Shield AI seeks an RF Engineer I to execute RF testing and characterization of components and assemblies using laboratory instruments and automated measurement systems. The role involves hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and reporting under mentorship, supporting defense-tech products including autonomy software and unmanned aircraft.

What you'll do

  • Execute RF test plans and document configurations, measuring S-parameters, gain, loss, power, noise figure, and receiver sensitivity
  • Operate vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes, and related instruments
  • Calibrate measurement setups and characterize cables, adapters, and fixtures to reduce measurement error
  • Automate instrument control and data collection using Python, MATLAB, or comparable tools
  • Develop test fixtures, harnesses, and interface adapters; perform soldering and basic hardware rework
  • Support EMI/EMC pre-compliance, MIL-STD-461 testing, and integration activities; troubleshoot anomalies with senior engineers
