Embedded Firmware Engineer Intern

About this role

SK Hynix is seeking an Embedded Firmware Intern to develop and optimize low-level firmware for next-generation SSD controllers. You'll work with experienced engineers on storage protocols, NAND flash management, and real-time embedded systems in San Jose.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware for SSD controller subsystems
• Write unit tests and participate in code reviews
• Debug firmware issues using JTAG and logic analyzers
• Assist in performance analysis and optimization of data paths
• Collaborate with hardware, validation, and system teams on firmware integration
• Support AI-assisted software development and documentation
