About this role
Smartsheet is seeking a Software Engineer II to build scalable backend services and tackle distributed systems challenges on their next-generation platform. You'll work with Kotlin/Java and cloud infrastructure while mentoring junior engineers and leveraging AI tools to enhance team productivity.
What you'll do
- Design and build scalable backend services using Kotlin and Java
- Solve distributed systems problems and work with AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure
- Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions with engineers and product managers
- Mentor junior engineers on code quality and industry best practices
- Integrate and explore AI tools to improve coding, testing, and team efficiency
- Collaborate with product management to align technical solutions with business goals
