SpaceX
Electrical Hardware Engineer, Satellites (Starlink)
About this role
SpaceX seeks an Electrical Hardware Engineer to design and develop high-reliability electronics for Starlink satellites, working across the complete product lifecycle from concept through on-orbit operation. You'll own electrical systems that integrate with mechanical, thermal, software, and RF subsystems, tackling challenges in digital communications, power electronics, and RF design.
What you'll do
- Design and develop high-reliability satellite electronics including schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware bring-up
- Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, and analysis for complex electrical designs
- Support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight operations
- Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software, and test engineers to deliver integrated hardware solutions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and validate electronics performance from prototype through on-orbit deployment
- Challenge assumptions and drive continuous improvement in design processes and product reliability
What they're looking for
- Mixed-signal circuit design (processors, FPGAs, Serdes, DDR4, analog/digital converters)
- PCB layout and design tools
- High-speed digital communications and power electronics
- Hardware troubleshooting and debugging
- Systems engineering and requirements management
- Python, C/C++ programming
- Aerospace systems experience
- Cross-functional collaboration
Benefits
- Work on cutting-edge satellite technology for global broadband connectivity
- End-to-end ownership of hardware from concept to on-orbit performance
- Collaborative environment with top engineers across electrical, mechanical, software, and RF disciplines
- Opportunity to impact billions of users worldwide through Starlink constellation
- Mission-driven organization focused on enabling human exploration
