About this role

SpaceX seeks a Hardware Reliability Engineer for Starshield to ensure satellite reliability through failure investigation, root cause analysis, and manufacturing process improvements. You'll collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, and supply chain teams to enhance hardware robustness and prevent defects.

What you'll do

  • Investigate and resolve hardware failures for Starshield production, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Manage non-conforming product quarantine and rework coordination with production leadership and engineering
  • Identify common failure modes using yield and defect data to improve manufacturing processes
  • Partner with Integration & Test engineers to maintain feedback loops and enhance test coverage
  • Optimize test and inspection processes using lean principles to meet reliability objectives
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through PFMEA reviews and autonomous production advancement
