About this role
SpaceX seeks an Operations Engineer to design and optimize material flow strategies across receiving, storage, and movement operations to support Starship production objectives. The role focuses on applying lean principles, data analytics, and process design to achieve efficient, safe, and cost-effective material handling at scale.
What you'll do
- Design and implement material flow strategies from receipt to lineside using value stream mapping and lean principles
- Develop factory and warehouse layouts with inventory optimization and space capacity modeling
- Create labor and equipment resource plans aligned with material flow strategies through time studies
- Develop sustainable packaging and rack flow solutions that optimize landed cost and handling efficiency
- Analyze material flow performance using Excel, Tableau, and SQL to identify issues and drive improvements
- Conduct safety assessments and audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and SpaceX standards
