Process Engineer (Starshield)
About this role
SpaceX seeks a Process Engineer for Starshield to ensure satellite reliability and performance by investigating hardware failures, driving corrective actions, and implementing process improvements across manufacturing. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance robustness of government-focused satellite hardware.
What you'll do
- Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis on production non-conforming hardware with corrective action implementation
- Manage containment and quarantine of suspect or defective products while driving investigation progress
- Use yield and defect data to identify failure modes and drive design specification compliance
- Partner with Integration & Test engineers to improve manufacturing processes and test coverage
- Optimize test and inspection processes through lean methodology while ensuring reliability goals are met
- Support continuous improvement initiatives including PFMEA reviews and autonomous production advancement
