About this role

SpaceX seeks a Wireless Software Engineer to develop firmware, embedded systems, and signal processing software for the Starlink satellite constellation. You'll design and maintain physical and MAC layer wireless protocols for a global broadband network connecting thousands of satellites to millions of users.

What you'll do

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain physical and MAC layer wireless software for Starlink communications
  • Architect signal processing algorithms and next-generation hardware for satellite systems
  • Participate in hardware bring-up, debugging, verification, and launch operations
  • Integrate wireless stack across layers with other engineering teams for end-to-end functionality
  • Develop prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints
  • Collaborate on cross-functional product development planning and execution

  • C or C++ programming
  • Wireless software and network protocol development
  • Signal processing and digital signal processing (FFT, equalization, channel estimation)
  • RF systems fundamentals and RF circuit software (PLLs, mixers, data converters)
  • Physical and MAC layer protocols (Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G, satellite broadband)
  • RF test equipment operation (spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, oscilloscope)
  • Debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing
  • Problem-solving and communication skills
