Control Plane Engineer

About this role

Supabase is hiring a Control Plane Engineer to design and maintain the Management API—a TypeScript/Nest.js-based system that powers all Supabase services and integrations. You'll develop scalable APIs, enhance reliability, support third-party integrations, and collaborate across teams to improve the platform's core infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and maintain internal and public-facing APIs for Supabase products including Studio, CLI, and OAuth applications
• Integrate with third-party platforms and partners, developing custom integrations and API endpoints
• Collaborate with DevOps, Frontend, and other teams to ensure smooth API implementation across the platform
• Build testing, debugging, and monitoring tools to ensure API stability, reliability, and performance
• Enhance the Branching experience in collaboration with the dev-workflows team
• Maintain existing API functionality while expanding capabilities and improving public API experience

What they're looking for

• Backend API development with 5+ years experience
• TypeScript and JavaScript/Node.js
• Nest.js, Express, Vitest, and Zod frameworks
• OAuth, JWT, and API security best practices (rate limiting, CORS)
• PostgreSQL and relational databases
• CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and containerized deployments
• API design, versioning, pagination, and error handling
• Testing, debugging, and monitoring tools development
