True Anomaly
GNC Engineer
About this role
True Anomaly seeks a GNC Engineer to design and develop guidance, navigation, and control systems for advanced missile and interceptor platforms. You'll own the full lifecycle from architecture and algorithm design through flight testing and deployment, working on sensor fusion, guidance laws, autopilot design, and high-fidelity 6-DOF simulation.
What you'll do
- Own complete GNC system development including architecture, algorithms, verification, hardware integration, flight test, and deployment
- Design and validate GNC flight software and embedded control algorithms across multiple flight regimes
- Develop navigation and state estimation algorithms with sensor fusion (EKF, UKF, particle filters) integrating IMU, GPS/INS, and seeker data
- Implement guidance laws and autopilot designs with verification via 6-DOF simulation, Monte Carlo analysis, and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Build and maintain high-fidelity simulation environments capturing aerodynamics, propulsion, sensors, and actuator dynamics
- Develop terminal guidance algorithms for maneuvering target intercept including tracking, aimpoint selection, and endgame steering
What they're looking for
- Guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) system design
- Flight dynamics, aerodynamics, and control theory
- Sensor fusion and state estimation (Kalman filters, UKF, particle filters)
- C++ and/or Python for real-time control and simulation
- 6-DOF simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Missile guidance laws and autopilot design
- Proportional navigation and optimal guidance theory
- INS/GPS integration and inertial navigation
