About this role
Varda seeks a Flight Software Engineer II to develop mission-critical software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operating in orbit. You'll own the full software lifecycle from requirements through flight operations, working with embedded systems in C++ on bare metal, RTOS, or Linux platforms.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain reliable flight software controlling spacecraft behavior throughout mission phases
- Write structured C++ code for embedded processors, including bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based systems
- Manage complete software development lifecycle: design, testing, integration, and verification
- Capture requirements and perform design trades for open-ended spacecraft software problems
- Execute software testing, verification, and validation to ensure system quality and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on problem-solving and technical communication
