About this role
Varda seeks a Flight Software Engineer II to develop and maintain reliable embedded flight software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operating in orbit. You'll own the full development lifecycle—from requirements and design through testing and flight operations—working with C++ on bare metal, RTOS, and Linux systems.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain flight software for spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule operation throughout entire missions
- Write high-quality embedded C++ code for bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based processors
- Own complete software development lifecycle including design, testing, and integration
- Define project scope, capture requirements, and perform design trades for open-ended problems
- Conduct software verification, validation, and testing to ensure system quality and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to problem-solve and communicate technical solutions
