About this role
SpaceXAI seeks a systems-focused Software Engineer to design and maintain a lean, high-reliability Linux-based OS for their supercomputer network. You'll develop high-performance device drivers, manage production deployment and debugging, and collaborate with hardware teams on next-generation infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain a Linux-based operating system for supercomputer network infrastructure
- Develop and optimize high-performance device drivers for network and compute hardware
- Deploy, operate, and debug platform systems in production environments
- Root-cause anomalies and continuously improve system reliability
- Develop observability and configuration management tools
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bring up OS and software stacks on new hardware

- C or C++ systems programming
- Operating systems fundamentals (scheduling, memory management, I/O)
- Computer networking (host OS stack, switches, routers)
- Linux kernel and networking stack expertise
- Kernel and network debugging tools (ftrace, perf, Wireshark, eBPF, gdb)
- Device driver development for high-speed interfaces
- Hardware bring-up and bare-metal programming
- Peripheral interface standards (Ethernet, PCIe, I2C, SPI)
