Quality Engineer, Advanced Hardware Manufacturing
About this role
Zoox seeks a Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer to establish quality systems and methodologies for advanced sensor suite production in autonomous vehicle hardware. You'll serve as the quality liaison across cross-functional teams, implement international standards compliance (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 13485), and lead production approval processes for complex electro-mechanical components including LiDAR, camera, and radar systems.
What you'll do
- Act as primary quality contact between Program Management, Design, Test Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, and Risk Management for serialized sensor production
- Lead Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and create quality documentation including PFMEAs, inspection reports, and functional test reports in multiple quality databases
- Develop Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) requirements with performance metrics
- Establish procedures and processes aligned with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 quality system standards
- Conduct Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to resolve quarantined units and drive nonconformance/CAPA closure
- Collaborate with Test Engineering, metrology, and Manufacturing teams to document testing and develop end-of-line test processes
