About this role
Zoox is hiring a Software Engineer to develop mission planning algorithms for autonomous vehicles, creating optimal routes and real-time navigation solutions. You'll work with graph search techniques, behavioral planning systems, and cloud services to enable autonomous vehicles to navigate dynamic urban environments effectively.
What you'll do
- Design and implement mission planner algorithms using graph search techniques and behavioral planning integration
- Test and validate software components on physical robot platforms, iterating based on real-world performance
- Collaborate across Mission Planning, Behavioral Planning, and Cloud Services teams to integrate software components
- Establish technical direction and architecture decisions for the mission planning team
- Lead cross-functional initiatives addressing routing, traffic integration, and dynamic replanning
- Model routing and decision-making problems using MDPs and similar frameworks
