About this role

Abnormal AI seeks a Software Engineer II to develop and maintain tier 0 backend services processing billions of emails daily for their inbound email security platform. You'll own critical systems like Subscription Manager, Notification Producer, and Remediation while collaborating across teams to ensure stability, performance, and scalability at massive scale.

What you'll do

  • Design and execute mission-critical software projects from conception through operation
  • Own stability, performance, and scalability of tier 0 backend services handling billions of daily emails
  • Collaborate with Detection, Products, and Infrastructure teams on cross-functional initiatives
  • Participate in on-call rotations to maintain system reliability and uptime
  • Identify and implement improvements to system efficiency, operational overhead, and reliability
  • Contribute to engineering excellence through knowledge sharing and professional development
