RCDD Telecom Design Engineer
About this role
AGE Solutions seeks an experienced BICSI RCDD to lead telecommunications infrastructure modernization across a federal campus in Washington, DC. You'll design and oversee structured cabling, fiber and copper installations, and MDF/IDF buildouts while ensuring compliance with BICSI standards and security requirements.
What you'll do
- Lead structured cabling design teams on campus-wide telecommunications infrastructure refresh and modernization
- Plan and supervise copper and fiber optic cabling installations across multiple secure facilities
- Oversee MDF/IDF buildouts, rack elevations, patch panel installations, and backbone connectivity
- Create and review telecom drawings, floor plans, cable schedules, and installation documentation using Visio/AutoCAD
- Conduct site surveys and coordinate with engineers, project managers, and government stakeholders
- Manage technician activities, quality assurance, testing, certification, and troubleshooting of cabling infrastructure
