About this role

Join Apex as a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and optimize satellite bus structures and components for commercial space applications. You'll conduct structural analyses, manage design integration across subsystems, and support testing and validation of mechanical systems for next-generation satellites.

What you'll do

  • Design and model satellite structures, subsystems, and mechanical components using CAD software
  • Perform structural analyses including FEA and hand calculations to validate performance and reliability
  • Optimize designs for weight reduction, material selection, and manufacturability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical, thermal, and propulsion subsystems
  • Support assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of satellite hardware including environmental validation
  • Prepare technical documentation including engineering drawings, specifications, and test reports
