Applied Intuition
Perception & Fusion Engineer
About this role
Applied Intuition seeks a Perception & Fusion Engineer to develop and integrate real-time sensor fusion algorithms for autonomous vehicles across defense and commercial domains. You'll design ML-powered perception systems, control multi-modal sensors (EO, IR, radar, acoustics), and collaborate with autonomy teams to deploy solutions on heterogeneous platforms in field testing and customer demonstrations.
What you'll do
- Develop and integrate AI/ML algorithms for multi-sensor perception stacks across diverse autonomous platforms
- Design sensor control software for EO, IR, radar, acoustics, and RF systems to autonomously fuse sensor data
- Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices and conduct hardware-in-the-loop testing with performance profiling
- Collaborate with sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams to ensure seamless integration of platform swarms during DoD testing events
- Engage with defense customers to understand use cases, triage technical issues, and support field demonstrations
- Develop simulation tools for post-processing field test analysis and drive improvements based on customer feedback
What they're looking for
- Sensor fusion and multi-modal sensor integration (EO, IR, lidar, radar, sonar, acoustics)
- Machine learning deployment (PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, C++)
- State-of-the-art estimation, tracking, and fusion algorithms
- Linux and Docker containerization
- Sensor physics and control parameter optimization
- Remote software development and large dataset processing
- Hardware-in-the-loop testing and hardware integration
- Python and C++ programming
