About this role

Archer seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and integrate high-voltage battery components for advanced air mobility aircraft. You'll develop mechanical enclosures, manage HV distribution systems, and ensure safe, efficient power delivery through structural validation and manufacturing coordination.

What you'll do

  • Design mechanical enclosures, mounts, and interfaces for HV battery components with focus on structural integrity
  • Size power conductors, optimize insulation, and develop interconnect strategies for battery systems
  • Select HV contactors and perform fuse coordination studies for safe power distribution
  • Execute tolerance stack-ups, FEA simulations, and DFMEA analyses to validate designs
  • Create 2D drawings and 3D CAD models in NX and manage design releases
  • Support prototype builds, validation testing, and manufacturing coordination to maintain design intent

What they're looking for

  • Mechanical design (5+ years experience)
  • High-voltage systems and electric powertrain knowledge
  • CAD/NX proficiency with tolerance stack and GD&T
  • FEA and finite element analysis
  • Manufacturing processes (welding, stamping, composites, brazing, fastening)
  • HV battery standards (UN38.3, IEC, UL, ISO)
  • Thermal and electrical design integration
  • Product development from concept to production
