About this role

Join Chime's AI Enablement team to build and extend internal AI platforms that power LLM-backed assistants and workflows across the company. You'll develop reusable platform capabilities, implement guardrails for responsible AI, and help teams safely scale AI-powered tools while learning AI-specific engineering practices like evaluation, observability, and cost management.

What you'll do

  • Contribute to and extend AI platforms (Archimedes, Bosun, easyRAG) that help teams develop and scale LLM-powered applications
  • Build reusable platform capabilities including APIs, SDKs, templates, and shared services for safe AI tool development
  • Prototype and productionize new AI capabilities alongside senior engineers, turning patterns into durable features
  • Implement evaluation, observability, and cost-management practices across AI systems for quality, latency, safety, and spend
  • Partner with Security, Risk, and Legal teams to establish guardrails for responsible AI development and usage
  • Collaborate across Chime to embed AI into internal tools, workflows, and employee experiences

What they're looking for

  • Software engineering with production shipping experience in distributed systems or platform environments
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs or ML services (or strong ability to ramp quickly into AI-specific tooling)
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Platform engineering mindset focused on reuse and building for multiple consumers
  • Understanding of AI-specific concerns: evaluation, prompt management, observability, cost control, safety, data privacy
  • Clear written and verbal communication with ability to explain technical tradeoffs
  • Experience with services, CLIs, and internal tooling development
  • Familiarity with version management and governance in AI systems
