About this role

Join an early-stage cleantech B2B SaaS startup as a Founding Engineer to build AI-powered software that optimizes industrial battery storage. You'll own full-stack development of real-time optimization engines, operator dashboards, and cloud infrastructure serving thousands of energy assets across Europe.

What you'll do

  • Develop core backend services and mixed-integer optimization algorithms for real-time energy asset management
  • Build intuitive frontend dashboards using React/Next.js for battery operators to monitor and control systems
  • Design and scale cloud infrastructure to support thousands of distributed battery systems
  • Own product development end-to-end, from feature definition to production deployment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Deploy and iterate on production optimizations based on real-world customer feedback

What they're looking for

  • JavaScript/TypeScript and React (Next.js preferred)
  • Python backend development with mixed-integer optimization experience
  • Tailwind CSS for frontend styling
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Full-stack application development and shipping to production
  • German language fluency
  • Energy industry domain knowledge (nice-to-have)
